Fighting Style: Her fighting style is... literally just not fighting. That's how she fights. By running away. She's painfully aware that she can do minimal damage, no matter how brave she is, she is very quick to come to the smart decision to flee.

PokeHuman Stats

Occupation: Works at the Ambrette Aquarium

Town of Residence: Ambrette Town

Appearance: Ming Xia has a rather thin, small build, with a small bust and hips, not weighing much. Her hair is a very vibrant, silky (if a bit oily at times) orange, which she generally keeps in a high ponytail that reaches the middle of her back. She has two odd, thin strands of hair tucked in front of her ears melt into stark white, which she can get a bit self conscious about at times. She has small, bushy brows and almond shaped eyes, with a small, flattish nose and lips some would consider looking a bit... fishy. Her skin is light, but tans well enough when she's out on the beach for hours.

Height: 5'2" in human form, 2'11" in her Pokemon form.

Personals

Personality:

Ming Xia tries very hard to prove that Magikarp, despite all the dismissive Pokedex entries, general sneering and terrible truth, are not, in fact lame but pretty darn cool.

She, herself, on the other hand... probably not the best example. She flops painfully into the assorted stereotypes related to such a pathetic Pokemon- she's oblivious, clumsy, forgetful and lacks any social grace. It's a miracle she knows how to walk and breath at the same time.

The poor girl wants to be cool, to have people like her, or see that she isn't just a sad, flailing fish out of water, but it's hard when you are, literally, a sad, flailing fish out of water. She is amiable, and sweet, but constantly questioning herself, usually out-loud, if she's doing things right, or acting "correctly", or if she should be less bubbly, or more edgy. This usually ends up in her faking things and embarrassing herself. She generally resigns to being a nice little welcome mat to most people she meets.

She tries, emphasis on the word tries, to stand up for herself and lash out at people when she is upset or frustrated. These bursts of fury are painfully non-threatening and usually ignored. In general, no one actually takes anything she says, or threatens, seriously, even herself to some extent. The frustration she faces only serves to fuel grudges, and has been starting to wear her kind demeanor down with bitterness.

Terrible luck and social skills aside, Ming Xia wants nothing more than to be accepted- by humans, Pokemon and Pokehumans alike. Her insecurities have been slowly dragging her down though, and she's beginning to think she should have just stayed in her pond.

:bulletorange: Seafood.

:bulletorange: Cruel children.

History:

Ming Xia was born and raised in the small pond that sits on Route 3, born to normal Magikarp parents. The little body of water was rarely bothered, most trainers usually kept themselves busy in the grass and forest around them. Unfortunately, this wasn't entirely a good thing- overpopulation quickly settled in the pond, with one too many Magikarp finding themselves packed in such a small space. It was by accident that Ming Xia was shoved out of the pond- flopping frantically on the bank, before realizing this might be her chance- to find a trainer, or a larger body of water. She mustered up all her strength and managed to jump, flop and flail her way down the route, rolling into town unnoticed. Tired, and desperate for water, she lunged herself into a nearby fountain. Ming Xia found her home in that fountain for a little over a month. She would try her hardest to get the attention of trainers, or anyone really, but her spectacular leaps were generally ignored on a good day.

Disheartened and alone, she swam circles in the pool, too scared to venture out into the world again, but miserable staying where she was. For once, luck was with her, and a rather friendly Azumarill took an interest in the fish in the fountain, chatting idly with the little fish. Ming Xia learned more of the world in their conversations than she had ever imagined, and began to wish she could leave the water to see it herself. Then the Azumarill stopped visiting, and her life became stagnant once more- until the Azumarill returned, with the name Azure, in the form of a young human girl. The idea of a Dittech blew her mind, and she asked her friend desperately if she could have one. After a couple days of planning, Azure managed to get another, and helped Ming Xia adjust to life out of the fountain.

Ming Xia's life as a Pokehuman was strange at first- but with they help of Azure, she was able to control herself with some practice. When Azure decided to leave Santalune for the Pokemon Village, Ming Xia made the shaky decision to venture out on her own- to see more than any other Magikarp had. She set off to a rocky start, getting lost often, before finally finding her way to the sea, and taking up residence in Ambrette Town, working in the Aquarium.

Relationships: N/A

Extras:
:bulletorange: Contrary to being a literal fish, she is a terrible swimmer.

:bulletyellow: She prefers her human form much, much more than her Pokemon form, and rarely stays a normal Magikarp for long.

:bulletorange: While her sense of direction is absolutely terrible, she does have a natural knack for finding bodies of water.

:bulletyellow: She loves sitting out on the beach, and will do it for hours on end, which is starting to freak out the locals to be honest.

:bulletorange: Constantly trying to convince the schoolkids who visit the Aquarium that Magikarp are cool and nice and loyal. It's not working.

:bulletorange: In her Pokemon Form, she is pretty hardy and can stay out of water for quite some time before needing it.

:bulletyellow: She is terribly disturbed at the thought of seafood, and she is terrified of people who fish.

:bulletorange: Talking about Evolution is a rather prickly topic with her, and she will try to avoid those conversations whenever they come up.

Time Zone: PST (California)
Chat Availability: Tues, Weds, Thurs in the afternoon/evening/night, Sat & Sunday all day. Honestly it all depends, I'm usually on everyday, but school tends to sap my energy so ehh. Also I'm not opposed to just chatting about ocs instead of roleplaying either! Developing ocs with people to bounce ideas off of is super fun, so lemme know. Oh, also, my name is Ana. ovo
Roleplay Mediums: Notes, DA Chat, Skype, and I'm opening to Google Docs, though I've never tried before. Feel free to ask for my Skype, just like note me or comment or something it's nbd.

Role-Play Example:

"But they're soooo lame! All they do is flop around!"

The girl sighed, furrowing her brow at the small horde of children tapping at the tank glass. The orange and yellow fish inside seemed to pay no mind, vacantly swimming in circles as the kids jeered.

"Actually, that's a huge misconception. They don't flop, they jump! Some can even jump up to seven feet high in the air! Isn't that neat?"

Ming Xia's bubbly tone and bright smile didn't seem to have any effect on the children who milled around, watching the Magikarp making their rounds in the tank. Her smile dropped, and her fingers tightened on her clipboard nervously.

"My brother's Pokedex said that Magikarp are the weakest, most pathetic Pokemon in the world! Who cares if they can jump, they're fish!" One outspoken boy grumbled, which was followed by several mixed comments from the other children. Ming Xia felt her heart sink to the bottom of the ocean.

"Well, that isn't very nice..." She mumbled, before glancing at her clipboard. She heaved out another sigh before faking a perky posture, her smile a bit

"Let's move onto the Clampearl exhibit, shall we?" The kids cheered, already running ahead to the next tank. Ming Xia took a second to stare sadly at her kin before catching up with the little group.
